My Personal Benefits of Meditation

Effective daily meditation does work! Describing the benefits of meditation - if it is an effective method that is used every day - is something like trying to describe the benefits of having good sleep every night, or a healthy daily diet. It affects one's whole being in a positive and life-enhancing way.

The specific benefits that are experienced by people seem to differ from person to person, depending on each individual's personal needs and their own stresses that have built up in them over time. My own experience has been that effective daily meditation enhances the entire mind-body system, improves health, expands awareness (consciousness), deepens one's wisdom and understanding of life, and brings a sense of peace in daily living.

I have been using a transcending meditation method since the mid-seventies and it is simply a part of my daily routine - like cleaning my teeth, taking a shower and eating three meals a day.

I would not consider stopping my twice-daily meditation sessions. Occasionally, through various circumstances, I have missed a session or even both the day's sessions, and the difference in the quality of that day has been very noticeable.
