Music For Meditation is Not Necessary
Contrary to popular opinion, I suggest that music for meditation is unnecessary and may in fact distract you from the delightful experience of watching your mind move inward to its Source of pure thought. After all, if your awareness is focused on music, which is at the surface level of your mind, how can it also move inward to the source of pure thought and the vast unbounded universe within you? The mind can only do one thing at a time - thinking is what it does most of the time. It is only when the mind is at rest - not thinking - that the body relaxes and naturally heals itself. The aim of meditation is to move your awareness inward beyond the thoughts for a pure connection to Source, or God. The sweet stillness within you, at the very core of your being, is like candy for the mind. Meditation gives the mind what it wants most - happiness in the peace within you. The Ishayas' Ascension techniques act as vehicles to carry your awareness within. Even music, as lovely as it is, and as relaxing as it is, does not hold a candle to the happiness the mind experiences as it moves further and further inward to its source. As further evidence of how unnecessary music for meditation is, I highly recommend that you play with this exercise of
watching your thoughts to quiet your busy mind.
Not only will you enjoy a full body relaxation, but you will be surprised to discover how powerful "watching" is. I don't want to give too much away, but you will be delightfully surprised by what is revealed to you as you alertly watch your thoughts. The aim of all meditations is to quiet your mind - to move your conscious awareness beyond your thoughts to the stillness within. Now that you know how to slow down and even stop your thoughts, your next step is to learn how to meditate. You will find that the Ishayas Ascension techniques easily and naturally move your awareness within to the Source of pure thoughts. The experience of that is indescribable - that is why it is called the peace that passeth understanding. Don't miss that awesome experience by allowing music for meditation to interfere.
