Easy Meditation for Beginners

To qualify as an easy meditation for beginners, do you think the following attributes would work for you?- easy to learn
- easy to practice
- immediate gratification
- peace of mind
The easiest method of meditation that I know, is the Ishayas' Ascension. I'm sure there are others that qualify as well, but at this point I can only vouch for Ascension. And here is another point of view. Hi Brenda. I love your website. About 8 years ago I took a First Sphere Course with the Ishayas and learned how to Ascend. It is the best gift I've given myself. I have been ascending every day since that weekend(eyes open and eyes closed). Until I discovered the Ishayas I found meditating difficult. I knew nothing about watching the mind and mindful meditation. I've learned how easy it is to step back and watch my mind, and when old issues come up, I notice them and they just fall away. I have learned not to take myself too seriously, and to listen better with an open heart. I love Ascending and I could go on and on about the positive benefits that I have noticed within myself and in those who also meditate using these wonderful simple techniques as taught by the Ishayas. Anne from Vancouver Easy to learn… Ascension is so easy that children from the age of 4 pick it up quickly. Adults find themselves thinking that it is so easy it probably isn't working. But of course that is just the ego's defense mechanism protecting its existence. This meditation for beginners works immediately as a natural stress reducer. Easy to practice… A meditation for beginners must be easy and enjoyable to practice so that you will be happy to meditate two or three times a day. Some types of meditation use just one mantra, which can be a challenge because the mind tends to get bored easily, and therefore distracted. This meditation for beginners offers four mental techniques which act as vehicles to carry the mind inward to the stillness. The stillness within is like candy for the mind. When the mind is pleased it looks forward to each meditation session and to the deep rest it gets with daily meditations. No special postures required... Another feature enjoyed by our diverse group of students is that there are no special postures to assume, or special meditation chairs, or meditation cushions required. But you can use them if you wish. For example, older people, like myself, find it very uncomfortable sitting in the crossed leg lotus position for long periods of time. Immediate gratification... People today want to see results now. They want to get rich quick, they want medical therapies to work now. Here is the good news about this easy meditation for beginners. Students who come to class looking for insomnia relief, and haven't slept soundly for years, often fall asleep during the first practice period. The next morning, after practicing with just one technique, those same students report having their deepest and most sound night's sleep in years. And that's not all... You all know how common everyday situations can be very frustrating and stressful. For immediate stress prevention and relief, you can use just one of these techniques as a standing meditation, with your eyes open, of course, to stay calm, cool and collected: - while waiting in a long line at the supermarket checkout counter, or at the bank;
- while driving in heavy traffic (OK, sitting is OK here), and
- during stressful conversations with family members, friends and business colleagues, even your boss.
Yes, meditating with these techniques with your eyes open, anywhere, anytime prevents stress from entering your central nervous system. Also, it has the effect of stabilizing and calming others around you. With your eyes closed, sitting comfortably, this easy meditation for beginners, quiets your mind, gently relaxes your entire body and you emerge from the stillness feeling energized and refreshed. Plus meditating before bedtime gives you a deep and sound sleep. Peace of mind… Everyone enjoys peace of mind, or would sure like to. In this day of overwhelming stress caused by economic distress, global and local conflict, and environmental changes, the best and most loving thing you can do for yourself is give your mind a peaceful break. A natural stress relief method such as meditation far surpasses the alternative of drugs and/or alcohol, and the side effects are much more enjoyable. Meditation is proven scientifically, both medically and psychologically, to improve your emotional and physical health.
