The purpose of this section on intentional living is to share with you some of my experiences of successful manifesting and insights gained while I continue to improve my skills to create what I want in my life. What is intentional living? Here is a simplified definition: consciously and deliberately choosing what I want, imagining my life with it, knowing (expecting) it to be so, and letting it go. My source of inspiration... In the book written by Esther and Jerry Hicks,
The Law of Attraction, The Science of Deliberate Creation,
you will find everything you need to know to create what you want in your life. I highly recommend you read it as many times as it takes to fully understand the Law of Attraction. My formula for intentional living can be found on Page 2. Please feel free to try it. I stay open and flexible in each segment intending process and allow my intuition to embellish the formula with relevant uplifting and imaginative thoughts. Hopefully my intentional living stories will inspire you to create more of what you want and less of what you do not want in your life.
Intentional Living - How I Created an Apartment with a View of MountainsJune 2009 Manifesting Success - 23 days Recently, during a very brief and challenging period of my life, I experienced a few very intense moments in which I feared being homeless and destitute. Thank God, with my meditation techniques and intentional living skills, I was able to quickly move beyond the negative thoughts and feelings and restore my inner peace. I asked the universe for guidance - should I return home to Toronto and be close to my kids and grandchildren, or should I stay here in Vancouver? In Vancouver my positive energy soars; thoughts of living in Toronto left me feeling flat. The idea of being closer to my family gave me warm and fuzzy feelings. The Universe sent an angel of mercy in the form of two friends who very kindly and generously offered me a room in their house, that I could afford. It was meant to be temporary until I could find a place of my own. The trouble is that I became so comfortable there, and still indecisive about whether to stay in Vancouver or move to Toronto, that I overstayed my welcome by about two years.
Proverbial kick in the pants...Intuition has its ways of being noticed. It starts off with a little nudge, like a faint voice within offering a suggestion. Then if that is ignored, the nudges gradually get louder and louder and soon they hit you with the proverbial kick in the pants - a powerful and sometimes painful awareness. The signs were there, sometimes painfully so. My friends wanted their house back to themselves. I had to get off the fence and move out of my comfort zone.
Pre-paving my path to independence...By the power of meditation and intentional living I allowed myself to be guided by my intuition. I was completely and delightfully aligned with my Inner Being, when I visualized living in an apartment that had a view of the mountains, just like one of my friends enjoyed. From his condominium apartment he enjoyed a panoramic view of the mountains, the waterways and the city, through large wrap around windows. It left an indelible photograph in my mind. While casually browsing through a real estate magazine, I found a photograph of what could have been his apartment. I cut it out and posted it on the wall behind my computer. The photograph remained in clear view on my wall for two years. It often faded out of my awareness but when I noticed it I had an energy surge of delight.
Once the final decision was made...On June 9th, after the universe finally got my attention, I received a clear and unmistakable intuitive hit to make my home in Vancouver. It was as if the decision had been made for me - most of my doubts and confusion were released and I felt great - totally aligned with my Inner Being.
Ask and it is given...I asked the universe for an affordable 1 bedroom corner apartment; wrap around windows with a view of mountains and water; conveniently located in Vancouver - preferably the Commercial Drive neighborhood - or something better. I began searching immediately. I viewed some pretty dismal apartments in my price range; one-bedroom apartments were too small and/or too dirty. I kept on looking - determined to find what I wanted. Here is what I got...
Nine days later, on June 20th, after a series of phone calls, each referring me to someone else who may be able to help me, I was directed to my current apartment, in a lovely upscale neighborhood. I was delighted with the spaciousness of this corner studio apartment with wrap around windows. In this photo, which does not do it justice, you see a portion of my view in summer. With lush green tall trees on two sides of the apartment, it feels like living in a tree house. In winter when the leaves of the deciduous trees have fallen to the ground, I will have a distant view of mountains in the north-east. I signed my lease on June 21st, and was permitted to move in immediately. I gradually moved the few belongings I had accumulated, and by July 1st, my apartment was almost ready to receive guests. Once the lease was signed, I redirected all of my intentional living skills to finding appropriate furniture and household items for a "small space", while keeping within my budget. Again, I was guided to all the right places to acquire everything I needed, and liked, to live comfortably and begin enjoying my lovely new apartment. I entertained my first dinner guest on July 2nd. Something better... I usually close my formula for intentional living with, or something better, and frequently I receive more than I consciously asked for. For example, I did not manifest the apartment in my preferred neighborhood. Instead I received something better. Within steps of my apartment is an upscale shopping centre with every kind of service I could ask for. I am surrounded by abundance and prosperity. I rarely use my car now except to go dancing and to visit friends who live out of my area.
Watch out for sneaky self-limiting thoughts...At the time of asking for this apartment, my thoughts were limited to past experiences and current circumstances. My request included words like; affordable apartment; I stopped short of asking for a view of water because I believed I could never afford a view of both mountains and water; and I chose a neighborhood that I thought was affordable. As I mentioned, this is an ongoing exploration and adventure and I intend to break free of perceived walls that confine me to limited resources and riches. Imagination is an important aspect of the formula for creating what you want. Whatever is imagined, with emotional energy, will be drawn, so I've asked the universe to expand my imagination to way beyond my limited perception.
I hope that you have enjoyed my sharing and that you are inspired to begin, or continue to manifest what you want in your life.
