Intentional Living
Three Wishes Granted Against All Odds

The Law of Attraction: Page 1 2 3 4 5

Intentional living is the best way to ensure that what you want in your life is what you will receive.

This story is about how working with my formula for intentional living my friend, Bernice, and I met all of our seemingly insurmountable and uncompromising demands.

Vancouver Celebration of Lights Fireworks Display

August 1, 2009
Manifesting Success - 1 day

Vancouver's Celebration of Light fireworks display is an annual event that attracts enormous crowds of people to the shores of English Bay.

For some who live in outlying towns, it is an all day adventure - a wonderful day on the beach.

The competition for claiming good viewing spots is tough, particularly on the beach directly in front of the floating barge from where the fireworks are set off.

But I am learning that with intentional living competition is not an issue.

Wish #1...

I would not compromise on my desire to sit in front of the barge within good hearing distance of the speakers that broadcast the music so brilliantly synchronized with the fireworks.

Wish #2...

My friend Bernice and I shared this same wish to sit in the shade of a tree because we are both very fair skinned and cannot take long hours in the sun.

Chances of finding that and still have an unobstructed view of the fireworks are rare.

Wish #3...

To find a parking spot close to where camp out.

Bernice would not compromise on her creature comforts. Rather than sitting uncomfortably for 6 hours on the ground, she insisted on bringing portable folding chairs, two of which are always stored in the trunk of her car; one for herself, and one for a friend - that would be me, in this case, and I am very grateful.

All of the above packs nicely into her bundle buggy. We packed our picnic dinner into a portable cooler with wheels (thank God) both of which must be towed from the car to our camping spot. And, I carried my overstuffed backpack.

Vancouver parking is a major hassle under normal circumstances. During a special event it can be a nightmare to be avoided at all cost. But compromising on this request is out of the question.

How we beat the odds...

Intentional living at its best requires one to be clear about what is wanted. We certainly had that covered - we intended to get what we both wanted.

Our intention was to arrive at our destination, Stanley Park, at 5:30pm. Wanting to leave no stone unturned, I suggested arriving at 3:00 pm, but Bernice was confident that 5:30 would be fine, based on previous experience.

I shared my intentional living formula with her, and we both agreed to focus on what we wanted, without adding negative thoughts like this is impossible, are we crazy?

As we drew closer to our destination, the traffic slowed down to stop-and-go in a single lane. Thousands of others had the same idea that we had.

No problem, I reminded Bernice, and myself, with our formula for intentional living we have the advantage of utilizing the power of the Law of Attraction to easily manifest the parking space we wanted.

Our parking lot was full...

Our chosen parking lot was concealed by a small forest of old and new growth trees, but before turning into the driveway, we noticed a steady stream of cars exiting - a sure sign of no parking spaces available.

So we drove on past that lot, inching our way around a bend in the road. As the road straightened a vacant space appeared - large enough to park six cars. It was just too inviting to ignore so Bernice pulled in and parked the car.

We were both ecstatic and just a little suspicious. While Bernice purchased a ticket, I took a little walk to the end of the vacant space looking for parking signs - and sure enough - we were parked illegally in a for-buses-only space.

By this time, with a paid parking ticket in her hands, Bernice threw up her hands and said she was staying put and would pay the fine if she got one.

I suggested that she may want to rethink her decision because the car might be towed and the fine would be exorbitant. Almost on cue, a Park Ranger issued a $150 parking fine to the vehicle right next to ours.

A parking angel to our rescue...

So, while standing there wondering what to do, we were approached by a man who offered his parking spot just five cars away in the legal section.

He asked for $4 to pay for his remaining time on the ticket to which I agreed and quickly paid the man. This kind gentleman even coordinated the shuffling of cars to prevent another car from taking his space when his wife pulled out to let Bernice in.

We were delighted - one part of wish #3 granted against all odds.

We unloaded the car and began making our way to find our perfect viewing spot.

Better than asked for...

In less than a ten minute walk we found it - and, it was even closer than from the other parking spot. Wish #3 completely fulfilled.

Wish #1 came true for me - this spot was just off to the right of center of the floating barge and within hearing distance of the speakers. How perfect is that?

And, again against all odds, beautifully situated at the top of a grass covered hill, in the shade of a large tree, and we would enjoy an unobstructed panoramic view of the bay and the fireworks - wish #2 granted.

To build on our confidence that intentional living works in our best interests there were no crowds of people to deal with on our way back to the car.

Oops! We forgot one intention...

We forgot to ask for a direct, easy, and effortless drive home.

The traffic leaving the park was slow, and being unfamiliar with the park's exits, we ended up taking the wrong one.

Instead we took the ramp leading to downtown Vancouver. No problem - we were still high on our delightful and creative experience so we just stopped off for a coffee and let the traffic clear before heading home.

Intentional Living is a far better than living by default...

I'd say that Bernice and I are a great team when it comes to manifesting what we want.

In my case, I am thankful for my ability to use my meditation techniques with my eyes open. A few times during our search for parking, I noticed one or two doubts creeping in, but realizing that they are merely a projection of fear into the future - it was easy to choose for inner peace in the present moment by thinking an ascension attitude.

I hope you have found this story inspiring and wish you happy and successful intentional living.
