Glossary of Terms
Gremlin Prevention Plan

For easy and pleasurable reading here is a glossary of terms and phrases. The use of playful language is intended to keep this topic lighthearted.

Glossary of Terms and Phrases

Chief. Abbreviation of Chief Cook and Bottle Washer. To avoid repetition and boredom, the use of dinner party Hosts, Hostesses and Chief are interchanged.

Queen/King for the Day. You, being the Chief, have the option to graduate on Christmas Day for even more fun and relaxation.

Gremlin. A devilish little Imp that wreaks havoc wherever it can. Or, Murphy’s Law: “Whatever Can Go Wrong Will Go Wrong”.

Gremlin Havoc Story. Actual Christmas related misadventure stories of friends and acquaintances, whose names have been withheld to save face.

These are intended to trigger your own personal experiences of drama during the holiday season, and motivate you to start and stay with the plan. Hopefully, they will also entertain you.

There are several true stories highlighted each month followed by tasks and ideas for gremlin stress prevention.

Gremlin Stress Prevention. Action to take to keep those devilish little Imps at bay, throughout the year, and especially on Christmas Day.

Aborted Gremlin Report. A list of eliminated gremlins or tasks - your accomplishments each month - that no longer threaten your peace and joy on Christmas Day.

Checklists. To-Do Lists, Ideas, Recommendations and Examples. These are intended to add value and enhance the execution of this gremlin stress prevention plan. The lists are by no means complete, but they do provide a starting point for you. It works best if you personalize the plan to meet your unique needs.

I hope your learning is huge from this plan and that you enjoy your journey as much as you enjoy next Christmas.

There is one page for each month, followed by a separate page for that month's To Do List. Click links at the bottom of each page to move easily throughout the plan.
