Daily Meditation
When is Best Time?

Daily Meditation Business Woman

According to some teachers, daily meditation is best around 4:00 am.

I say just do it every day, whenever you can fit it in to your busy schedule.

Developing the habit is important, of course, but just relax and enjoy your sessions.

Don't stress over it. If you have resistance to the recommended twenty minutes, then do at least ten minutes and gradually increase the time until you reach twenty minutes.

The habit will almost develop itself because your body will tell you when it wants to relax and enjoy some inner peace and quiet.

My body kind of wilts and my mind gets foggy every day around 4:00 PM because that is when I usually close my eyes.

If you happen to wake up at 4:00 am, then why not sit up and meditate?

Or, if you wake up anytime during the wee small hours of the morning, go ahead and meditate yourself back to sleep.

Meditation sure beats counting sheep to quiet the mind storm that often keeps people awake til dawn.

We recommend closed eye meditating before breakfast to make your day relaxing and enjoyable, before dinner to relieve the stress of the day's activities, and before bed to produce a sound and restful sleep.

Daily meditation with eyes-open whenever you remember will prevent stress from accumulating in your central nervous system.

Happy Face Meditation Reminder

A helpful reminder is to post happy face stickers where you spend most of your time; in the bathroom, in your kitchen where it will be in your face, in your car, on your computer at home and at work.

And how about right inside your pocket book so every time you make a purchase, your happy face will be smiling at you, reminding you to return to the present moment and move your awareness to the peace within you.

Standing Meditation

You can use your meditation techniques while standing in a line at the bank, or the supermarket. No you don't have to close your eyes - just remember open-eye meditation prevents stress from straining your nervous system.

The time you spend meditating here adds to the benefits of daily meditation.

Walking Meditation

More benefits of meditation await you while you walk. Move your awareness within and allow the sounds and sights of where you are to bring you into the present moment.

You will find delightful surprises to enhance your experience - even if you have walked that path every day for years.

Don't enjoy meditation?

No problem! One of the greatest challenges facing people during meditation is their desire to control the outcome.

First you need to learn how to quiet your mind, and then you need to remember to let go, and stop straining and trying to control your thoughts.
