Causes of Stress
One of the biggest causes of stress is negative thinking of your ego. It is all in the way you handle stress that matters for the good of your health. Job loss, end of romantic relationship, loss of a loved one, reading the newspaper, family relationships, are stressful to most of us. One of the biggest causes of stress… The
ego's negative self talk
creates intense emotional reactions that strain your central nervous system. Thinking thoughts like I can't, or I'm not good enough, over and over again, leaves scars your nervous system. Reading newspapers has a similar effect. Bye the way, you are not obliged to read newspapers that are loaded with sensational “bad” news stories. Sensationalism sells papers because we are addicted to the thrill of the drama. Other less frequent causes of stress… Sudden job loss is food for your ego. A downward spiraling chain reaction of negative thinking could lead to depression. Prolonged negative thinking definitely puts a strain on your nervous system. Being scammed out a lot of money for an internet software package that doesn’t work for you could make you intensely angry. Loss of a loved one could cause you tremendous grief. The bottom line… Stress is stress, like rain is rain and work is work. You can either see things as stressful and let them get you down, or make you sick, or you can utilize them as golden opportunities. It is the way you deal with stress that determines the degree of harm being imposed on your mind and body. You are in the driver’s seat. You get to choose which direction you will take. What will you choose: grief and misery, or peace and happiness? The peaceful way is easy if you learn how to accept what is without judgment and false beliefs.
